Nothing stings quite as exquisitely as a nice backhanded compliment. This collection of brutal owns is pretty devastating, but the sad people here seem to have recovered from them somehow.

What exactly makes a compliment backhanded? Well, it's when the statement is so accurately rude and passive aggressive that it doesn't come off as a compliment at all.

Thankfully the folks here were generous enough to share their humiliation with the rest of us online. Otherwise those painful moments would have gone to waste in the back of their minds, instead of being put out here for us to laugh at again.
